We were commissioned to provide architectural services for the conversion of this redundant 19th Century slate-built community hall into a modern family dwelling. The intention was to retain a sense of the original scale and internal form of the interior. This was achieved including through the creation of a double-height entrance space and retained exposure of the original expansive arched brace trusses. The exterior of the hall remains largely unchanged, whilst benefiting from repair & conservation works. The resultant conversion is a bright, contemporary home that still echoes its original use, whilst sleeping up to 14.
